David "Dave" Morgan, also was born in England and was ELO's backing vocal, vocoder vocalist and acoustic guitarist on stage from August 1981 to September 1986. Dave Morgan plays bass and guitar and has written songs since his early days in rock music, when he played together with Richard Tandy in Paradox and The Chantelles. During the 60's Carl Wayne became enthusiastic about his talents and invited him to work in Carl's Penny Music Publishing Company, and so it was no surprise that The Move recorded two Dave Morgan songs in 1968 "Something" and "This Time Tomorrow". Dave joined the Steve Gibbons group The Uglys, because they needed a bass player and he recorded with them. Soon The Uglys changed their name to Balls, but they only managed to get one test gig together. Dave left Balls in summer 1969.

Dave Morgan got more into songwriting and Lou Reizner signed him as the song writer for the group Wishful Thinking for whom Dave wrote two complete albums, but wasn't actually credited as a group member. Dave's biggest hit with them was "Hiroshima" which made No. 1 in several European countries. In 1970 Dave released his eponymous album "Dave Morgan" which was produced by Lou Reizner. During his related work with Wishful Thinking Dave joined the Birmingham based rock group Magnum in 1972. In 1977 Dave Morgan and songwriter Jim Cleary together recorded one album as Morgan Cleary Band for Jet Records with Richard Tandy as producer. The album was never released though.

When Jeff Lynne decided to get rid of those "mad jumping cellists" on stage, who could not be heard in the final live mix and had to be supported by keyboards and basic tapes, it was Richard Tandy who recruited Dave Morgan for The Electric Light Orchestra. ELO wanted to play without backing tapes, and apart form Louis Clark's string-synthesizer, they needed someone who sang all the famous ELO vocoder parts (by singing and pressing the right chords on a synthesizer), and a second vocal backing for Jeff and Kelly. During some songs he played the acoustic guitar as well. During ELO's "Time Tour", Dave Morgan performed with Kelly Groucutt by miming the bass in a German TV show called "Musikladen". The year 1983 saw Dave Morgan together with the so-called ELO studio section singing additional background on the "Secret Messages" album, in the recording studio in Holland, to learn some recording and production techniques from Jeff.

In 1984 Dave and Richard released their first record "Berlin" as R And D. The track had been inspired by Dave's visit to the Berlin wall during ELO's 1982 "Time Tour". The R And D project developed into Tandy And Morgan who released the album "Earthrise" in 1986, for which Dave had done many of the recordings on his own. The foundation of The Tandy Morgan Band followed, with the line-up of Richard Tandy, Dave Morgan and Martin Smith, and the "Action!" single. All tracks on these projects were composed by Dave.

In Spring and Summer of 1986 The Tandy Morgan Band members were on a promotional and concert tour for The Electric Light Orchestra's "Balance Of Power" album. At the live shows, Dave Morgan became ELO's first backing vocalist and he also played the acoustic guitar and the vocoder as well, Martin Smith became second backing vocalist and, of course, played the bass guitar. ELO also did a lot of TV shows to mime the ELO single outtakes. Here you could see Martin Smith mime backing vocals and bass guitar and Dave Morgan and Louis Clark together miming the cellos. In fact they all had nothing to do with the "Balance Of Power" recordings.

Dave could also be heard as background singer on four songs as a member of the choir on Jeff Lynne's first solo album "Armchair Theatre" in 1990. During the following year Dave Morgan recorded Christian music for his performances at churches. After the shows he sold "All God's Blessings", his privately produced tape, containing 11 songs, to the church goers. The tape had a plain title sleeve made up on his computer and featured "God's Good Time", a track which was produced by none other than Jeff Lynne alias "Otis Wilbury" who was also in the choir on that track. Later that year, Dave extended the tape to 16 tracks and sold it exclusively through the ELO Fan Club/ Fanzine "Face The Music". He also released a charity single titled "Betlehem Town". When "Earthrise" was re-released on CD in June 1992 Face The Music Fanzine suggested to Richard, Dave and Martin to produce "The B.C. Collection" with unreleased tracks from 1985 to 1987 by Tandy Morgan Smith, which was only available through FTM.

In March 1987 Mik Kaminski and Kelly Groucutt founded a new group : OrKestra. Four others, Terry Pardoe, Chris Tew, Simon Fox and Clive Poole, were involved. They toured with their Beyond The Dream Tour in the United Kingdom in 1987/88, and recorded some songs for the soundtracks Midnight and Summerjob. Kelly, Mik and Hugh McDowell also appear in the movie Summerjob.

Jim Onslow himself had visited Jeff at home to work on this material, but these days the debut single of the Electric Light Orchestra "10538 Overture"hits the charts and Jeff Lynne is called to participate in Top Of The Pop with the band and from then on drew attention away from Lynne and all its effort in promoting his new band, was truncated and then forgotten Devils Canyon.

Reunion tour. A night of ‘Brumbeat’ at the Birmingham Locarno on 25th April 1981; with Roy Wood and Bev Bevan joined by a number of others.
The remaining four tracks are a performance by Carl Wayne on 30th September 1982.
Tony Blackburn introduces this and the sound quality seems to indicate a BBC broadcast of some sort.

Decade of the 60 and a band pre Moody Blues, called John Bull Breed with line up in saxophone, Terry Guy, Graham Brockley keyboard, harmonica, vocals, Mike Heard lead guitar, John Lodge bass guitar, vocals, Graham Rose drums, Mark Stuart ( Brian Yeates ) lead vocal

We will listen to the debut single of John Lodge in this band of the year 1966, the cover of Ike Turner's called Can 't Chance To Breakup. The bang did not have a great success, but the past few years they went taking importance for the fans's interest and collectors for these old recordings. Let's remember John Lodge is a member of even The Moody Blues right now with over 40 years in the band.

Next we will listen to Marthy Wilde in the music bussines from the 50`, Wilde worked in the mid 60 with Justin Hayward in Wilde Cats rather than Hayward enter to The Moody Blues replacing Denny Laine. You did not have big successes, but at the end of the 60 the song Jezamine by The Casuals, was co-composed by him under Frere Manston's pseudonym. Next they encounter in same show The Poorboys that you include two musicians that you remember, Dave Pritchard former of Idle Race and Phil Tree that played in severald bands like Mike Sheridan `s Band, Belch next to Tomy Iommy Bev Bevan and Jasper Carrtot and at present in The Bev Bevan ´s Move. Next I present the central band of our shows the Electric Light Orchestra and a live recording item for collection, from a show in Rotherdam Holland the February 10th, 1982 during the Time Tour.
We will listen to this excellent verson of “The Way Life's n 's Meant To Be”.

And to complete this fourth block a musician from Swiss, called Soren Mounir that creates the project Invisible Sun Odyssey and a song record in tribute to his idol Jeff Lynne and the ELO's music. From 2005 I present you “Night In A Summer”

We go again to the years 60, but exactly to the year 1968 and a job edited some months ago in an anthology like Bonus Track, of The Move, one of our referent bands in the podcast with an alternative version of your success, Fire Brigade, ( Early Piano Version ).

Next we will listen to another great band, also formed for West Midlands's musicians like Steve Windwood, when he left Spencer Davis Group to form a new band with to Jim Capaldi, Dave Mason and Cris Wood. We are going to listen to Traffic and his single debut, "Paper Sun" that arrives to the number 5 of the charts in 1967
And to close, a live performance by Del Shannon few months before his death, singin "I Go To Pieces", from 1988, song recorded in studio too and edited Post Mortem in 1990 into the album Rock On, (album that included songs produced by Jeff Lynne).

Part 4
Fourth block with big music. We initiated it with the Electric Light Orchestra, and material that was without knowing oneself many years, that recently some months ago it was published in a blog. From 7 Dec 1974 recording of the concert in Palace Theatre I present you, "Laredo Tornado" of the album Eldorado of that year 1974, a live version just of the tour of promotion of that album.

We kept on after with George Harrison and of the album The Best of Dark Horse 1976-1989 we will listen to the song Cockamanie Business.

And to close the block and pertaining to the previous songs, another legendary band, Status Quo and a superb song from 2007 "Pennsylvania Blues Tonight" . They make in the choirs a tribute to Jeff Lynne and George Harrison.

I am going to present, of the album Far and the song from Regina Specktor Blue Lips, one of the most promoted of the album, and one of the latest Jeff Lynne's productions of the year 2009, that also play in bass and guitar.

Now we are going to 1977 with singer and actor Mike Berry, the fact that I receives Louis Clark's collaboration in the orchestral arrangements in the song I´m A Rocker that the first one belonging to this block that we are going to listen. .
Next if we go to the to principal band of our shows. The Electric Light Orchestra and one of the first live performances in Granda TV year 1972 and “Queen Of The Hours”. Next we stuck at an one belonging to the legends and the Brumbeat Mike Sheridan's founders that I make early sixties Mike Sheridan and The Nightriders. Today I show them a live recording last year 2009 with his band Mike Sheridan ´s Band showing his validity with 69 years old doing Shakin All Over and Good Rockin Tonight. We have more historic bands of the brumbeat in this new segment. We will listen to The Rockin ` Berries with Geoff Turton in voices playing a very good ballad "She 's Not Like Any Girl" of the year 1967 side Dawn's B ( Go Away )

Then, we continued with another great band The Hollies and a material registered live in 1976 The song that we will listen is "Just One Look" edited originally in 1964 and arrived to the number 2 in the Uk charts.

We closed the block with another excellent group, The Spencer Davis Group and of the years with Steve Winwood in keyboards and vocals the song "It `s Gonna Work Out Fine" from 1965, Very Good music in this new negment in Zoom 2010.

Remember them that we are in Zoom 2010 from radioelo Podcast, and this is the block, 5.
We are going to begin for the English comedian Jasper Carrot that recorded in 1975 the song "Funky Moped" with the production of Jeff Lynne. We will play a live version in Top Of The Pops from 1976.

The second song of this block is from Gerry Levene one of the pioneers of the Brumbeat with his band Gerry Levene The Avengers first Birmingham's group in play with The Beatles in The Cavern in 1963. From a solo album recorded 2006 will listen the song "Moody Blue".
And the third song os personal recording of my friend Paul Cornok that recorded this incredible moment, Orignal Members of the legendary Idle Race with another legend Mike Sheridan playing live "At The Cedar Club" in March 27th, 2009.
The musicians were Dave Pritchard gutar and vocals, Greg Master in bass, Mike Sheridan keyboards. Stan Cornock drums, and Roger Bromle in guitar.

We are going to say good-bye with these 3 last songs.
In first time Jim Onslow our interviewed of the last year than arrived to 50 yeras of career, he played in The Diplomats's and Gerry Levene & The Avengers between another groups, and the followign song is a solo recording, a very good ballad called, "Didnt Meant Or Make You Cry"
Next song by Session 60 the alternative band that the unforgettable Kelly Groucutt deceased in February of the year 2009 and a song with his voice called "When You Walk In The Room" a Searches's success.
The band include between other ones to Chris Tew former member of Orkestra with Kelly in the decade of 80.
And to finalize also reminding Kelly, his last recording in studio with The Orchestra. A version of "Ticket To The Moon", song recorded in 1981 by ELO for the album Time.
